What To Do If The Power Goes Out

Electric service is one of your most dependable purchases. Power interruptions are usually infrequent and brief, but there are times, due to the weather and acts of nature, when your service will be interrupted.

When the power is off:

  • Check the fuses or circuit breakers in your service box panel. If necessary, replace any fuses or reset the circuit breakers. Remember to check the primary cartridge fuses in the fuse box or main circuit breaker.

  • If you have no power at all, check with nearby neighbors to see if they are without power. This will help determine if the trouble is caused by the transformer serving you or if there is a line outage.

  • If you have not found the trouble, call the cooperative. Be sure to give your name, location and service number. Call the cooperative as soon as the trouble is discovered.

  • For all service outages call: 774-3986 or 800-677-2612. A dispatcher is on duty 24 hours per day.
The cooperative has recently added an automated attendant to assist us in an outage situation. We apologize for any inconvenience.
