Illinois
Electric Cooperative
Emergency Work Plan
is designed to
expeditiously
provide personnel,
equipment and
materials to
cooperatives in
Illinois that needs
assistance during an
emergency. This aid
has extended beyond
its state borders
which can happened
from time to time
with Tornadoes and
Winter storms.
Such was the case in
2005 when mother
nature put our
Illinois, and other
states, electric
cooperative linemen
to the test. The
sixth cooperative
principle is
Cooperation Among
Cooperatives.

When Hurricane
Katrina and Rita
devastated parts of
Louisiana, Alabama,
Mississippi, and
Texas, Illinois
electric cooperative
employees stood
behind that
principle sending
several hundred
linemen to Alabama,
Mississippi and
Louisiana to help
restore power.
The IEC Emergency
Work Plan is
Administered through
the
Association of
Illinois Electric
Cooperatives. |
